Black pepper is produced from unripe fruits of Piper nigrum, which are boiled and dried in the sun for about 10 days: in this way the grains dehydrate, taking the typical black and wrinkled appearance. The same process through different processing methods is used to produce white pepper, black pepper and green pepper. Taste: Slightly pungent and very aromatic. Odour: characteristic.
Aromatic herbs are used to brew Belgian Bière Blanche, Grand Cru, Tripples and Christmas Beers. They are usually added in the last 15 minutes of boil. In ancient times herbs were used to extend beer's storage time.
